Everything Everywhere All At Once, or EEAAO is was an emotional rollercoaster, an enlightenfull movie, a nauseating experience, a shout of laughter in a box, and a tear river magnet of a film! This movie was all over the place and was indeed an experience that one has to indulge in once in their life. It is hard to explain. This movie is about multiversal travel, immigration struggles, rocks, weenies for fingers, and lgbtq+ lives. After first watching it, I was speechless; I had to rethink how I lived my life because this movie was indeed life-changing for me. I looked at the plot, cinematography, and character development in my evaluation essay. This plot is everywhere, which is part of the reason why it is soooooo good. The cinematography is "chefs kiss." I am wowed by what directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinart were able to accomplish with their low budget and limited time. The character development is truly monumental. This affects audiences as well. One watched someone live in a world where nothing matters; hurt everyone, don't give a ____ about anything. Then moves on to a mindset that nothing matters; live your best life; who cares what other people think, we are insignificant so why not make the best of our hand? This is a lovely theme that is everywhere in the movie, and when one goes through this existential crisis when going through this enlightenment, all worries and happiness and sadness goes away. This movie, dare I say Masterpiece, is a work of art and should be seen by Everyone Everything Everywhere All Around The Globe!

Mia:

The criteria of my evaluation was the special effects, storyline order and the outfits worn by Joy in the movie. The movie that we evaluated as a group for the extra credit opportunity was the movie “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. I remained unbiased on my evaluation therefore I wrote about both the negative and positive perspective of my criteria. Overall, this movie was funny but sad at the same times. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, many of our group members cried or had watery eyes. We enjoyed watching the movie together even if it was for an assignment. Although it was an extra credit opportunity, we had a lot of fun being together eating popcorn and watching the movie.

Play: Bad Dates

Andy:

Due to the actor's performances, the plot, and the general proudness of watching the play being perfectly executed, I greatly admired the play. This play was almost like a child of mine due to my participation in the drama club. I felt like a proud papa when I saw how well the play went, but my pleasure was not just a result of my involvement. All of the actors' performances were great. I became aware of the fact that the school does not need to focus just on math, science, and English. Through their performances, the actors contributed to a greater community that this play helped build. The narrative itself was somewhat amusing. In my opinion, the concept of true love is timeless. In the play, two lovers, Greg and Jill, seek to meet others since they are afraid of comitment to their relationship. Of course, with the power of love, they eventually rekindle their romance and live happily ever after. On a chilly October night, a straightforward story like this that made me chuckle aloud was just what I needed! I thoroughly enjoyed this play since it was well-produced and had great performers.

Mia:

My rating of the play “Bad Dates” is 10/10. The play was funny and made me laugh along with my group several times. The different dates that Jill would have different personalities and hobbies. The narrator did a great job as well, I would laugh every time she would mention how unlucky Jill was. After every single unsuccessful date, the narrator would come up to once again announce that she was unsuccessful in finding a person to replace Greg. As I mentioned before, the play was super funny and I couldn’t stop laughing. It was the narrator and the attitude of the dates Jill would have that made me laugh until my stomach hurt. One of the dates even lied about speaking Spanish, and I thought of it as funny because the date had to pretend to be someone he was not. I realized that on dates people usually pretend to be something they are not or create a fake image of their life just to impress someone. I am glad that at the end Jill was able to find her date’s true identity. I do have to admit hearing Jill’s date talk in Spanish was funny because if he had to save his life by speaking Spanish. He would be gone.
